From a young age, I was always trying to figure people out. My family of origin was the perfect environment from which to begin. Having emigrated to Canada with a Scottish mother and Indian father, as a blended family of four children, I was trying to figure out who I was too!

This curiosity eventually led me to study Psychology at the University of Toronto. I couldn't help but explore more, completing a double Honours degree to include Criminology and a minor in Sociology.
After University, I worked in residential care with youths. However, I wanted to explore other countries and cultures. This led me on a wild and not always wonderful, yet enriching, adventure beginning with working on cruise ships and then onto Europe - to Turkey, The Netherlands and the UK. In London I worked in Human Resources in learning and development, creating and facilitating courses.
I'd always had a strong urge to live in the Southern Hemisphere, for some unknown reason, since age 21. Whether you want to call it divine intervention or mere chance, I met a Kiwi in the ocean in Thailand, as you do, and here I am nearly 14 years later.

My thirst for knowledge and understanding didn't stop there. I undertook studies in Transpersonal Counselling in Melbourne. It was there that I gained the relational and therapeutic skills I was searching for.

I returned to New Zealand where I joined Lincoln University's Student Health team as a counsellor, where I enjoyed working with a diverse group of students for 6.5 years. The sunshine of Nelson was calling me and since 2020, I have been in private practice and ACC counselling in the Nelson/Blenheim area.
